I'm so glad this book was recommended to me. I expected a different type of slave story, one I thought I couldn't handle for the potential brutality of the subject. I loved it. What I enjoyed the most was experiencing Slavebreakers right along with Bran in discovery exactly what it meant to be a Slavebreaker. Bran is such a sweet boy. Holden, his owner, interesting. I don't think the story can be defined as a true romance where you can tout for the one true pairing. It's lovely, though. I'm planning on reading the rest of the series.
